| I come back from a land down under! |

G'day everybody! Your favourite (or least favourite) Australian has returned from the literal middle of nowhere to annoy the world once again! I've been isolated from the internet for about four weeks. Did I miss much?
It's been an interesting adventure, involving Pez, a Nerf pistol, the police, Maxibons, a very very mining town, a monsoonal storm in the desert, jumping over very large puddles, Uluru, Kata Tjuta, various other unpronounceable Aboriginal names, misuse of the term 'internet cafe', cattle, a pub with dozens of bras hanging from the roof, ill-chosen camping spots, zillions upon illions of ants, an Air Force truck driver, captive emus, discussions on the seating preferences of Aboriginal people, a golden crocodile, overpriced magazines, cowardly crocodiles, Australia (the film) at a drive-through, Barack Obama, blackouts, a hotel that reminded me a lot of No More Heroes, an artificial lake bigger than half the natural lakes in the state combined, bats, no water restrictions, a rum distillery, friction burns of ambiguous origin, overprotective drunken uncles, Bushman's insect repellent, catamarans, arachnid hitchhikers and being followed by thunderstorms. Not necessarily in that order.
And I come back to discover not much has changed, except that the government has given me $1000, and the Prime Minister sez that I am to spend it ASAP on consumer goods to prop up the apparently wobbly economy. Well, my dad needs a new washing machine...
I've got the weekend to chill out, and on Monday I'm starting work experience at a restaurant owned by a friend of my godfather (not the mafia type, the silly bartender type), with chance of getting a job if I do well enough. Apparently times are meant to be getting tougher in this economic climate, but I honestly don't think much will happen that will directly affect me at all.
So I feel like I should spend at least a bit of money since I got back, prolly to renew my City of Heroes subscription, I missed that game so much. Oh, and a shame about Sonic Unleashed. At least it's not worse than last time! |
